Window Installation

Window Installation
Wilkins Wood Workers makes and fits made-to-measure timber windows for Cotswold cottages, new builds and period homes across Gloucestershire. We carry out on-site surveys, manufacture or source timber frames and complete expert installation with attention to draught-proofing and glazing detail. Qualified joiners (Lvl 3 NVQ) with around 10 years' experience handle every stage. Aftercare and on-site finishing ensure your windows perform and age well.

How It Works
Site survey & measured drawings
We visit your property on the family farm’s schedule, inspect the opening, check reveals, damp and rot, and produce precise measured drawings and a written scope.
Manufacture or source timber frames
Bespoke frames are hand-made in our workshop to match your profile — sash, casement or mullion and transom — or we source sympathetic factory-made timber units when appropriate.
Expert fitting & finish
On-site fitting includes setting, glazing, draught-proofing, ironmongery and final oiling or paint preparation, followed by a documented aftercare visit to tweak seals and finishes.
Why Choose us for Window Installation?
True bespoke timber work
Every frame is made or adapted to your property — profiles, mouldings and glazing bars are tailored so new windows sit correctly in period stonework or modern cavities.
Local, hands-on service
A small family-run workshop on a Gloucestershire farm means continuity: you deal with the same experienced joiners from measure to aftercare, not rotating crews.
Qualified, insured and committed to aftercare
Operated by NVQ-qualified joiners with circa 10 years’ experience and public liability cover up to £5 million, plus on-site oiling and post-installation visits.
Precise timber windows built for your home — we specialise in softwood and hardwood frames, sash and casement designs, and bespoke glazing bars for listed and non-listed properties. Whether you need a straight replacement for rotten frames, a full refurbishment of original sashes, or new made-to-measure windows for an extension, we take detailed site measurements and account for stone sills, brick reveals and existing ironmongery so the new units fit and operate correctly.
Workshop craftsmanship with practical on-site fitting. Our joiners hand-finish each frame in the farm workshop, then fit and finish on site — glazing, draught-proofing, adjusting meeting rails, and fitting locks and stays. We also offer on-site re-oiling, repaint preparation and a scheduled aftercare visit to make sure seals and finishes settle properly, protecting your investment for years to come.
