About This Service

Aftercare & Repairs

Wilkins Wood Workers offers practical aftercare and repairs across Gloucestershire, from sticky doors in Stroud terraces to finish checking on Cotswold cottages. Qualified carpenters (Lvl 3 joinery, Lv2 carpentry + building) inspect the issue, carry out sympathetic repairs and re-finish on site. Warranties vary by job, but the team prioritises leaving no customer unhappy and will revisit until the job meets the brief.

Our Process

How It Works

01

Report & Inspect

Tell us what’s wrong and we’ll come to site — workshop on a Gloucestershire farm — to inspect timber movement, sticky or draughty doors, loose joints or finish faults and advise a practical fix.

02

Repair & Restore

Qualified joiners carry out the repair: re‑hanging, planing, rebating, re‑bedding, mortice and tenon repairs, or on‑site re‑finishing and oiling using traditional techniques and matching materials.

03

Check & Aftercare

We check performance after the work, offer maintenance advice and schedule further visits if needed. Job-specific warranties and public liability cover (up to £5m) give added reassurance.

Benefits

Why Choose us for Aftercare & Repairs?

Family-run continuity

A small farm workshop means the same team handles your job from inspection to follow-up, so adjustments and finish tweaks are consistent and straightforward.

Qualified, experienced joiners

Operated by NVQ‑qualified carpenters with around 10 years’ trade experience, the team uses correct carpentry techniques for structural and cosmetic repairs alike.

On-site finishing & reliable aftercare

We re‑oil, re‑finish and tweak joinery on site and return for follow-up visits — built-in aftercare reduces future movement and keeps timber looking right.

What we fix — doors that stick after seasonal swell, draughts around newly fitted frames, loose handrails, checked finishes and joints that need re‑pinning. We treat each job as joinery work, not a quick patch: that means correct joinery repairs (rebates, tenons, glue and peg repairs) and finishing that matches your piece or property.

Where we work — based on a family farm in Gloucestershire, we regularly attend homes across Stroud, Stonehouse and Cheltenham. Jobs range from timber casement window adjustments in Cotswold stone cottages to bespoke door re‑oiling in modern townhouses. All work is covered by our public liability insurance up to £5 million, and any job-specific warranty is confirmed in writing before work starts.
