About This Service

Joinery Installation

Wilkins Wood Workers fits the timber items we craft in our Gloucestershire workshop — from bespoke doors and sashes to built-in joinery and thresholds. Every installation starts with an on-site measure and survey, followed by careful adjustments, ironmongery fitting and final finishing so units sit, open and seal correctly. Operated by NVQ-qualified carpenters with 10 years’ trade experience and public liability cover up to £5m, we offer reliable aftercare visits to keep timber performing.

Our Process

How It Works

01

Site survey & measure

We visit your property (Stroud, Stonehouse, Cheltenham and surrounds) to check reveals, floor levels, plaster stops and ironmongery requirements before making templates.

02

Workshop prep & final checks

Pieces are prepared at the farm workshop to measure, with rebates, beads and cut-outs pre-fitted where possible and glazing/finish scheduled prior to delivery.

03

On-site fit, adjust & finish

Install includes setting thresholds, hanging doors, fitting sills/architrave, servicing ironmongery, draught-proofing and final oiling or varnish touch-ups, plus a handover check.

Benefits

Why Choose us for Joinery Installation?

Bespoke fit — not off-the-shelf

Every item is made to measure in our farm workshop and adjusted on site so doors and windows close square, seals engage and furniture installs flush even in uneven period properties.

Hands-on, local service

Family-run team — the same qualified carpenters see your job through from measure to aftercare, giving continuity, practical advice and swift follow-up in Gloucestershire towns.

Qualified, insured & committed to aftercare

NVQ-qualified joiners with public liability cover up to £5m; we offer on-site re-oiling, re-setting and repairs so timber keeps performing after installation.

What we install — internal and external doors, box sashes and casements, bespoke fitted wardrobes, shelving, thresholds, skirting, architrave and window sills. We work on new-builds, renovations and traditional Gloucestershire stone cottages, taking care with plaster interfaces, reveals and historic profiles. Before any cutting or fitting we carry out a full site survey and templating so our pieces arrive ready to set with minimal disruption.

How we finish it — installations include hanging, packing and setting, glazing beads, recess rebates, ironmongery fitting and draught-proofing. Final on-site finishing options include hand rubbing oil, Danish oil and specialist varnishes to match your existing timber. With NVQ Level 3 joinery and Level 2 carpentry + building, plus public liability insurance up to £5 million, we also offer scheduled aftercare visits to re-oil, adjust hinges and resolve any post-install issues.
