Small Tables & Side Tables

Small Tables & Side Tables
Wilkins Wood Workers makes handcrafted small tables and side tables tailored to your interior scheme. With 10 years' experience and NVQ-qualified joiners, we cut, assemble and finish every piece in our Gloucestershire workshop. Choose solid oak, ash, walnut or reclaimed timbers with traditional joints and on-site oiling. We offer delivery, careful siting and follow-up aftercare so your table stays looking right for years.

How It Works
Design & Measure
We visit your home or work from sketches to agree size, timber, detailing and finish — measuring alcoves, sofa gaps and circulation to get proportions spot on.
Workshop Craft
In our farm workshop we use seasoned hardwoods, traditional mortise-and-tenon and breadboard techniques, then dry-assemble before finishing to check fit and movement.
Delivery, Finish & Aftercare
We deliver and position the table, apply final oiling if needed and schedule an aftercare visit — re-oiling or adjustment included to keep joinery performing.
Why Choose us for Small Tables & Side Tables?
True bespoke sizing & detailing
Each table is made to your measurements with personalised details — chamfered edges, turned legs, breadboard ends or through-tenons — so it fits both space and style.
Durable, locally applied finishes
We use hard-wax oils and traditional finishes applied in the workshop and on-site, then return for re-oiling or maintenance to preserve timber performance.
Qualified, insured local craft
A family-run workshop with NVQ-qualified joiners, roughly 10 years' experience and public liability cover up to £5 million — reliable, consistent workmanship in Gloucestershire.
Small tables and side tables that work with your home — not against it. Our pieces are designed as companions to larger bespoke furniture: a low occasional table to match a dining table, a compact side table to slot between a sofa and radiator, or a bedside table that echoes the grain and finish of your oak bedroom suite. Timber options include locally sourced oak, ash and responsibly sourced walnut, plus reclaimed boards when a weathered look is required. We join using time-tested methods — mortise-and-tenon, breadboard ends and pegged through-tenons — so the table moves with the seasons without falling apart.
Finish and aftercare are built in. Every top is sealed with a hard-wax oil or satin finishing coat and given a final on-site oiling after installation. If you need adjustments or re-finishing later, we return for aftercare visits so hinges, legs and surfaces stay true. We regularly fit tables into Cotswold cottages, Stroud flats and Cheltenham townhouses — practical furniture made to last, with a friendly, no-nonsense approach from our farm workshop.
